Here are a few photos from 40's style singing group 'the Ladybirds' based here near Westport, Mayo.

They even sang me a few songs during the shoot. They sound amazing.

Westport Wedding Fair Mayo,

Outside a hotel in Westport, five brides & one groom. Lucky man, or maybe not ;)

I was asked to take this promo shot for the Westport Woods Hotel in Westport, Mayo while I was displaying my work at the wedding fair on the day. Hope to make a few bookings from it.

My last wedding fair which was also in Westport was pretty successful for me. Got loads of inquiries and a few bookings.

As I am new to Mayo alot of people are not yet familiar with the name 'abaca photography'. I think once your searching for a wedding photographer in Mayo using Google you will find my site is up there on the first page though.

I met a couple at the event that were very disappointed that they didn't search hard enough as my reportage style was exactly what they were looking for. Unfortunately they had booked their wedding photographer the previous week. (Some other guy in Westport). They mentioned that when they were searching on Google that they limited their search to 'westport wedding photographer'. So I guess I got a little bit more SEO work to do.

Wedding in Ashford Castle, Cong, Co. Mayo

Got working on a wedding in Ashford Castle, Cong, Co. Mayo the other weekend.

I love photographing weddings in Cong as I am spoiled for choice in terms of nice locations around the area.

Needless to say, Ashford Castle is stunning both inside and out. I must head over day some day (when im not on a job) and go for a walk around the grounds.

I was asked to be the wedding photographer for this couples special day. It was one of the most chilled out weddings Ive done to date with no more than ten people attending.

Holga, lomography attempt

Here is one of my first attempts at recreating the Lomography and Holga camera effect.

What is the Holga Camera I hear some of you ask.

The Holga is an inexpensive, medium format 120 film toy camera, made in China, known for its low-fidelity aesthetic.
The Holga's low-cost construction and simple meniscus lens often yields pictures that display vignetting, blur, light leaks, and other distortions. The camera's quality problems have obtained a cult following among some photographers, and Holga photos have won awards and competitions in art and news photography.

And what about Lomography ??

Lomography emphasizes casual, snapshot photography. Characteristics such as over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure, blurring, "happy accidents," and alternative film processing are often considered part of the "Lomographic Technique.
